JPO and JPO patents
The Japan Patent Office (JPO) is a Japanese governmental agency in charge of industrial property right affairs, under the Ministry of Economy. JPO has an official patent database - Patent Abstracts of Japan (PAJ). It contains the patents issued since 1976.
There are more than 1.7 million patents with 2,000 to 3,000 newly granted patents each week.
NSE patents in JPO
JPO's official patent database, Patent Abstracts of Japan (PAJ), is difficult to spider, because of their system design. However, since all JPO patents and patent applications were documented in esp@cenet, JPO data was retrieved from esp@cenet.
The NSE keyword list was used to retrieve the JPO NSE patents by searching on patent title and abstract ("title-abstract" search) in esp@cenet. After that, each patent's publication status was verified (application or registered patents) in PAJ database. In total, there are 1150 JPO registered patents submitted by 404 assignees and 2,087 inventors. The data does not contain country information.
